MISS BLACK AND OLD GOLD SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANT

History

The Annual Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant provides contestants with the opportunity to boost their self-esteem by showcasing their talents, displaying their beauty, and speaking on issues prevalent in today's society. The brothers bond with the pageant contestants outside of the event by dining together, attending their events, mentoring them, and supporting them as women on campus. We help guide each contestant to overcome personal struggles and present themselves in the best possible light. The audience, consisting of friends, family, and staff, along with the judges, experiences their elegance and hard work. In the end, Ms. Black and Old Gold (1st place), Ms. Black (2nd place), and Ms. Gold (3rd place) receive scholarships. Every year, we aim to make the pageant even bigger!

2024 Miss Black and Old Gold

"Competing in the Miss Black and Old Gold Pageant was a profound journey of self-discovery and growth for me. The process demanded that I step out of my comfort zone and fully embrace who I am. It challenged me to trust in my own words and abilities, proving to myself that I am truly capable of all that I claim to be. By pushing beyond my insecurities and showcasing my authentic self, I gained a deeper belief in my own worth and potential. As I prepared and participated, I was encouraged to view myself through a new, positive lens, recognizing strengths and qualities I had previously overlooked. This journey not only boosted my self-confidence but also allowed me to see myself as capable and empowered. It was a transformative experience that reshaped my self-perception and inspired me to approach life with greater optimism and self-assurance. This experience was not just about competition, but about affirming that I am indeed everything I say I am and more.."
